The elegant, herb-tinged 1999 Cote Rotie exhibits a saturated ruby color and a straightforward, medium-bodied style with black fruits, olives, and herbs. This wine reveals depth, richness, and nicely integrated acidity and tannin. It is a deep ruby-color. The 1997 Cote Rotie is juicy, forward, and ideal for consuming over the next 7-8 years. I have never enjoyed Vernay's Cote Rotie. The 1990 did little to change my opinion. It is simple and light, with washed out, meager flavors and an annoying vegetal character. Importer: Wine Imports, San Francisco, CA.
