The 2015 Savigny les Beaune 1er Cru Les Vergelesses has an attractive bouquet with apple blossom and pralines scents, a hint of lemon curd, very "neat 'n tidy". The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, a welcome touch of lemongrass that leads it to a lively finish. This will be worth checking out once in bottle.

The 2014 Savigny les Beaune 1er Cru les Vergelesses Blanc has a delightful bouquet with hints of white chocolate infusing the citrus fruit. The palate is crisp and fresh with a fine line of acidity, quite citric, a little sharp but with a tangible sense of energy and precision on the finish. This is a pretty wine in the making.

A mild touch of reduction shaves the top notes from the citrus and floral-scented nose. Otherwise there is excellent detail and vibrancy to the medium-bodied and lightly stony flavors that terminate in a dry, clean and focused finish. This saline-inflected effort should reward 4 to 7 years of cellaring if desired.

The 2013 Savigny les Beaune 1er Cru les Vergelesses, that was reduced from 16 barrels to four because of hail, has a crisp, slightly waxy bouquet that takes time to emerge from the glass, eventually revealing pineapple and lemon-curd scents. The palate is smooth in the mouth with hints of marzipan and almond counterbalanced with the citric thread, although it needs a little more substance toward the finish.
