Brun's 2009 Bourgogne Pinot Noir displays dried cherry, new leather, and bitter cyanic notes in the nose, leading me to anticipate a certain amount of drying and austerity that I have noticed on the palate of earlier renditions, but here instead there is bright, juicy succulence, with lovely mingling of red fruits, bittersweet walnut oil, cocoa, and salted meat stock, as well as a polished, glycerin-rich texture. I would tentatively plan on enjoying it over the next 12-18 months. Imported by Louis/Dressner Selections, New York, NY; tel. (212) 334 8191
