A very ripe and bold wine for the vintage, this has stacks of savory character and some tar alongside the rich black fruits. Well-judged tannins help hold together this very ample wine. Drink now.

From one of the Brotte family's own estates, the 2018 Cairanne Domaine Grosset is a dark-hued and dark-fruited effort. Blackberries and chocolate notes appear on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is soft and approachable, almost creamy, wrapping up with a plush, velvety finish. It's doesn't seem to have the concentration for long-aging, but it boasts plenty of near-term appeal.
