The 2006 Marboré is their top red, a multi-grape blend of Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Parraleta and Moristel that aged 18 months in a mixture of new French and American barrels with the full lees. The nose takes you back to the era of too much oak and extraction, dominated by toast, smoke, vanilla and spices with a vegetal hint in the background. The palate is medium-bodied, and the fruit seems to be receding, so what remains is the structure and tannins from the barrels. Time to drink up. 72,000 bottles produced.

The 2004 Marbore is a blend of 50% Tempranillo, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and the balance Parraleta and Moristel. It was aged in new French barriques for 16-18 months. Dark ruby-colored, the nose offers up earth notes, mineral, pencil lead, leather, black cherry, and black currant. On the palate it reveals a forward personality, some elegance, and plenty of spicy fruit. It will evolve for 2-3 years but can be enjoyed now through 2020. Leafy and smoky on the nose, with a firm, crusty topping. The palate is driving but has sheering acidity, while the palate shows blazing cherry, plum and tomato flavors.
