The aromas of nectarines jump out of the glass with lemon blossom and crushed stone. Medium body with integrated tannins that coat and caress the palate. Fine and delicious. From organically grown grapes. Really delicious now.

The 2016 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico is a very nice wine that shows a smooth texture and a delicate approach that grows in intensity. There are small-berry aromas with cassis, wild raspberry and dried blueberry, which would spruce up any pasta like a Sicilian pasta alla Norma. A blend of 40% Frappato and 60% Nero d'Avola aged in oak barrels for 12 months, the wine is delicate and smooth, with tiny steps that go the long haul. The tannins are well integrated and give the wine a firm, upstanding backbone. Some 83,000 bottles were made.

This wine is a blend of 60% Nero d’Avola and 40% Frappato, aged in oak for 12 months. The 2015 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico is a bright, almost glossy expression that delivers pure and elegant fruit. This estate stands out for the elegant and finessed approach bestowed on these two unruly and spirited Sicilian native varieties. COS shows a deft hand in the cellar. This mid-weight red wine is brilliant, buoyant, fresh and lasting.

This is a tremendous wine and is my favorite bottle in this excellent series. The 2014 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico reveals beautiful integrity and elegance with wild raspberry, blue flower and raw pistachio nut that is a bit sweet and salty at the same time. Buoyant and bright berry fruit takes center stage and although there are some post-fermentation aromas that might stick out to some experts, I embrace them as an integral part of this unique wine's distinctive personality. The bouquet is almost electric. It has many elements that recall a young Nebbiolo with powdered licorice, cola and dried ginger. I tasted this wine from vat and tasted it again as a finished product. The label has been restyled to boast one of the most distinctive and contemporary designs I have even seen in Italian wine.

A bright and elegant red, with fine tannins framing flavors of crushed mulberry and dried fig, accented by hints of woodsy spice and fresh earth. This does a good impression of a Nuits-St.-Georges.
