The 2012 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico is a drier wine that delivers less fruit intensity compared to the rounder and sweeter 2011 vintage. The wine walks a tight line with an austere personality and thinner overall margins. The bouquet offers dried cherry aromas with rose potpourri, toasted almond and crushed river stone. The primary fruit is delivered with reduced intensity. In the mouth, the wine is very clean, tight and silky. This vintage offers near-term pleasure and I wouldn't wait too much longer to drink it.
