A blend of 73% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre and 12% Syrah aged 21 months in 15% new French oak, the 2018 GSM has a medium ruby color and bright, oak-inflected aromas of cinnamon over black and red berries, opening to bass tones of earth and underbrush with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, supple and ready to drink, with spicy flavors and a fresh finish. 280 cases were made.

A blend of 52% Grenache, 41% Syrah and 7% Mourvèdre, the 2015 GSM reveals a brooding nose of ripe black fruit, smoke and asphalt. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich and chewy, with firm structuring tannins and a ripe, baked core of fruit. It's a rustic, flavorful red that lacks a bit of energy and succulence to score higher.

Moving to the reds, the 2013 GSM is a Grenache-dominated blend that includes 20% Mourvedre and 12% Syrah. This forward, sweetly fruited beauty offers lots of both black and blue fruits, smoked herbs, licorice and a kiss of pepper to go with medium to full-bodied richness, ripe tannin and an already hard to resist personality.

Tightly structured and tannic, with aromas of leather, herb and dried cherry leading to firm flavors that focus on cedar, smoked pepper and sage. Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Drink now through 2021. 330 cases made.??–TF??Region: California / Paso Robles Select to Add

A beautiful wine that would stand nicely beside top quality Chateauneuf du Papes, the 2012 GSM (52% Grenache, 26% Syrah and 22% Mourvedre) was completely destemmed and spent 18 months in 67% new French oak (Syrah), 25% new French oak (Mourvedre) and 8% new (Grenache). It offers lots of wood smoke, plum, blackberry, olive and wild herbs characteristics in its plump, full-bodied, supple and sexy personality. While certainly a fruit-driven effort, it still has a pretty, elegant and lightly textured style and is always a joy to drink. Drink it anytime over the coming 7-8 years.
