The 2015 Chateau Saint-Pierre has an attractive bouquet with small red cherries mixed with rose petal and truffle, conveying Pomerol typicité better than recent vintages that I have tasted. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannin, good body and acidity with plenty of black fruit laced with tobacco on the finish. It is not the most complex Pomerol of the vintage, but it certainly indicates an improving estate heading in the right direction with the assistance of Stephane Derenoncourt.
