One look at the score for the Savigny La Dominode might cause some to think there has been a typographical error. Yes, the darkly colored wine does merit the score. It is an extremely powerful, dense, rich, full-bodied wine with plenty of tannin and a great finish. Clair told me it was made from 80-year-old vines. Based on my last tasting of it in September, 1989, it will need cellaring until 1993-1995.
