The 2011 Valdisanti is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese and a tiny part Cabernet Franc—which only comes in at 5% of the wine, but it definitely makes its presence felt especially in this hot vintage. The wine opens to a pretty garnet color with aromas of spice, leather and tobacco. It shows a very pleasant sense of unity and balance despite the warm growing conditions. The mouthfeel is rich and softly tempered.
