The 2013 Pinot Noir Yamhill Cuvée comes from four different estates owned by Domaine Serene and sees 40% new French oak for 13 months. It has an attractive bouquet with raspberry and crushed strawberry fruit, quite candied in style. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky red berry fruit, a touch of black pepper with a slightly abrupt finish that left me wanting a bit more. This is a decent Pinot Noir, though it does not possess the substance to encourage long-term cellaring.
