The 2007 Pinot Noir La Colina Vineyard was aged in 32% new oak and offers the best bouquet of the collection. It displays smoke, damp earth, spice box, violets, black cherry, and black raspberry. Medium-bodied and elegant on the palate, this smooth-textured, savory, medium-long effort should evolve into an outstanding wine with 2-3 years of additional bottle age.
Vintages definitely matter in the Willamette Valley. I gave every one of Torii Mor's 2006 Pinot Noirs a rating of at least 90 points. In the 2007 vintage only one wine achieved that score and several could not be recommended.
