The 2011 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts has a graphite-tinged bouquet that seems almost flinty, with sharp and focused tart red fruits that take a little time to mellow. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins, crisp acidity and a leafy but weighty/structured finish that lingers in the mouth. This is a Vosne 2011 that deserves three of four years in bottle before broaching. Drink 2016-2028.
Sebastian Cathiard kindly offered two or three examples of the 2011 vintage after tasting through his 2012s at the domaine.
