Am I being too conservative? If someone wanted to try a wine that represented the classic, full-bodied, full-blooded style of California Zinfandel, this offering would be among my top choices. Not as flamboyant, exotic, or complex as some, or as heady, alcoholic, or sumptuous as others, Nalle's 1991 is just a terrific Zinfandel. The dark ruby/purple color, classic Zinfandel nose of black-raspberries and spices, graceful, medium to full-bodied texture, and amply-endowed flavors bursting with ripe fruit make for a gorgeously seductive wine.
