The 2009 Barbaresco Asij is a beautiful, fragrant wine with a little more depth and polish than is typically the case. Layers of fruit flow through to an effortless, gracious finish laced with a hint of French oak. This supple, juicy Barbaresco is best suited for drinking over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
It’s great to see Ceretto – one of Piedmont’s iconic families – doing so well after a lackluster period in the 1990s and early 2000s. Ceretto’s top 2009 Barbareschi are easily among the very best of the year.
