Firm yet well-integrated tannins provide the backbone as the 2008 Barbaresco Bric Turot opens up in the glass. I find lovely inner sweetness and perfume in the dark fruit, although the 2008 is several years away, at a minimum, from providing true pleasure. Hints of spices and flowers wrap around the vibrant, juicy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. This is a terrific set of new releases from Prunotto. This is aromatic, with cherry and white pepper aromas, followed by raspberry, leather and tobacco flavors. Elegant and firmly structured, ending with black tea and eucalyptus accents.
