The 2005 Diana Madeline is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, and the balance Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. It was aged in 70% new oak. Purple-colored, it reveals a nose of toast, scorched earth, black currant, and blackberry. Elegantly styled with enough structure to evolve for 4-6 years, the wine has a lengthy, firm finish. This has elegance and presence, striking a lovely balance between firm texture and fresh fruit flavors, with raspberry, cherry and sage character against fine-grained tannins.
