Turley produces limited quantities of five impressive Petite Syrahs. The dense purple-hued 2005 Petite Syrah Turley Estate reveals strong tannins along with hints of incense, licorice, and blue as well as black fruits. It is a powerful red, but the tannin seems to be jagged at present. Previously recommended: As indicated last year, 2004 was a terrific vintage for Turley Zinfandels. If they can still be found, I would opt for purchasing them over their lighter 2005 counterparts.
