The 2006 Shiraz “McLaren Parish Vineyard” comes from an 11 hectare vineyard planted by Nugan in 2000. The wine was barrel-fermented and aged for 12 months in 75% new French oak. Purple-colored, the wine delivers an expressive nose of pain grille, pepper, spice box, mocha, blueberry, and blackberry. Velvety-textured, layered, and sweet on the palate, it has excellent concentration, structure, and balance. Give it 5-7 years to blossom and drink it through 2030. Nugan Estate produces 550,000 cases of wine and has 519 hectares of estate fruit under vine. They are the 13th largest exporter of Australian wine. As this portfolio of wines attest, they continue to focus on quality from top to bottom.Importer: Ken Onish and John Gorman, Southern Starz; tel.
