Cassis, black cherry and cacao can be discerned in the aromatics of the 2000 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle. Lush, sweet, and enthralling, it is a dense, sultry, hugely concentrated offering. Red cherries, blackberries, spices, and black currants permeate its personality as well as its supple, interminable finish. It is a perfectly-balanced, exceptional wine for drinking over the next 12 years. No offense to Peter Weygandt, this estate’s importer, but can anyone think of an easier job than having to sell Bernard Dugat’s wines?
