Absolutely outstanding is the 2006 Earthquake Petite Sirah. This is a stunning example of Petite Sirah, exhibiting graphite, blueberry liqueur, blackberry notes, and acacia flowers in a powerful full-bodied style. Remarkably, the tannins are sweet, and in spite of sensational concentration, and a mouth-staining level of extract, this wine is very supple and delicious already, although I have no doubt, given the anti-oxidant attributes of Petite Sirah, that it can last for a decade or more.
