The 2015 Morey-Saint-Denis Village, of which there is just three barrels this year, comes from Très Girard. (Although the name is not used on the label because they...to quote their words..."forgot". This has been rectified from 2016 onwards.) It offers plenty of dark berry fruit on the nose, boysenberry jam and bilberry, nicely defined with well-integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin. There is good backbone here, fine tension with dense black cherry and blackberry fruit, leading to a foursquare, but nicely focused finish.
