The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru les Cazetiers has a voluminous, fruit-forward bouquet with ample redcurrant and cranberry scents, though I find more clarity and terroir-expression offered by the Champeaux at this point. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannin - tart red cherry fruit and quite saline in the mouth, leading to a precise but quite persistent finish. This is a "serious" Cazetiers that will need a few months to lighten up.
