Aromas of new saddle leather, blackberries, tar, pepper, and forest floor jump from the glass of the outstanding 2007 Syrah Hudson Vineyard. Approximately two-thirds whole clusters were used during this wine’s fermentation, and the oak was kept to a minimum. It is a big, juicy, French-inspired, Northern Rhone-styled Syrah to drink over the next 7-8 years. This is a reliably strong portfolio from Bruce Neyers, the national sales representative for Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. His winemaker is Turley Cellar’s highly renowned Ehren Jordan.
