The 2012 Barbera d'Alba exhibits more acidity as well as slightly more hints of tomato skin, red berries, earth and incense. It is, again, a naked Barbera which, like the Dolcetto, is aged in tank and bottled early to preserve its freshness and fruit.
The less expensive low-end wines from this excellent producer in Piedmont have revealed two reds that come from the highly prestigious sub-viticultural region of Serralunga.
