Already with the subtle, engagingly floral and mineral nose, one knows that this wine will be in a different league from the Knolls’ two Wachau Riesling Federspiel bottlings. Meadow-like, almond and ocean breeze scents mingle with intimations of white peach, peach kernel and lemon that then dominate on an infectiously juicy, bright palate. The finish here is focused and refreshing, a stony undertone setting off the fruits and flowers while subtle salinity lends some saliva inducement.
