Grenadine and sour cherry scent and concentratedly flavor the ADEA 2008 Pinot Noir Ann Sigrid, which displays vivacious juiciness and surprising cut for its vintage, while betraying no heat or roughness from its 14% alcohol. Pungent herbal and piquantly nutty inflections add interest en route to a long finish in which the tannins become evident but remain well-integrated. I anticipate this being worth attending to for another half dozen years. A former jet mechanic, Dean Fischer planted his first Pinot vines in the Northwestern Willamette Valley in 1990 and began limited production under his family name in 1995. In 2002, he went full-time, re-branded (using the initials of four family members) and acquired his own facility, where his daughter Erica is now involved as full-time assistant. The ADEA wines display distinctive personalities and admirable qualitative consistency.
