The 2005 Lagrein Gries Riserva is a generous, engaging red packed with varietal dark fruit, spices, wild herbs and earthiness. This is an especially dark, brooding style of Lagrein that shows some of the wilder overtones the grape can sometimes yield. It remains a racy, full-bodied Lagrein that should drink beautifully over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011.
