I drank a lot of Greysac in college when it was owned by the late Baron Gunzberg. The soft, fruity, round, charming 2011 (65% Merlot, followed by mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and dollops of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) is everything a Cru Bourgeois should be. The current proprietor, Jean Guyon, has made this property one that should be seriously considered by consumers. Drink the 2011 over the next 4-6 years.

Showing considerable wood flavor, this wine has some tough tannins to overcome before it really shows its best. The fruit is ripe, full and packed with blackberry flavors. Once fully integrated, the wine should reveal more of a luscious side. Drink from 2017.
