The 2002 Soave Contrada Salvarenza, from an old-vine vineyard, is ample, ripe and round on the nose and palate, with caramel and vanilla notes to accompany the white fruit, minerals, and herbs. The oak level is higher than in vintages such as 2000 and 2001, an indication that gauging the use of barrels is not always easy in this zone.
