The 2012 Zinfandel Gnarly Vine Monte Rosso Vineyard, a blend of 95% Zinfandel and 5% Petite Sirah, was aged 16 months in 75% French and 25% American oak (65% new). A powerful, big, rich, spicy, peppery, meaty Zinfandel (none of its whopping 16.3% alcohol shows through), it possesses loads of fruit as well as super-concentration. A great terroir along with impeccable winemaking has resulted in a terrific Zinfandel to drink over the next 5-8 years.
