The 2008 Oda Blanc is a blend of 51% Chardonnay and 49% Macabeo aged for 8 months in new French and American oak with periodic batonnage. Toasty, buttered popcorn aromas lead to a round, smooth-textured, wine with plenty of melon and baking spice notes buttressed by lively acidity. The oak is well integrated while contributing to the wine’s plush mouth-feel. A bit more concentration would have led to an outstanding rating. Drink this tasty bland over the next 3-4 years.
