From another underrated burgundy vintage, this 1972 exhibits a spectacularly flamboyant, fragrant nose of herbs, cedar, smoked meats, oriental spices, and sweet fruit. In the mouth, the high acidity of the vintage is apparent. But wow! What extraordinary concentration, multi-dimensional flavors, and power this wine still exhibits. The color is a deep opaque garnet and there is considerable sediment in the bottle. Drinkable now, this wine could easily last for another 10-15 years!
