(only 40% of this wine went through malolactic fermentation; aged in 100% new oak, with weekly batonnage for the first three months, then once a month thereafter) Dried apricot, citrus skin, honey, butterscotch and resiny oak on the nose. Dense, concentrated and spicy, with sharply delineated flavors of lime, dried fruits and sweet oak. The acids are firm but nicely integrated and not at all screechy. Finishes oaky and long, with very strong fruit.
