The Riesling-like 1999 Gewurztraminer Heimbourg bursts from the glass with bold, petrol-like aromas. On the palate, this wine again acts more like a Riesling than a Gewurztraminer. Smoky, pear, white peach, mineral, and petrol characteristics come out in its highly focused character. It also has outstanding breadth, delineation, and concentration.
