The 1995 Chardonnay Reserve has benefitted from extensive lees contact. It is an opulent, smoky, butterscotch, Burgundian-styled Chardonnay with an unctuous texture, considerable body, and outstanding richness and fruit. It will not make old bones, but for drinking over the next 1-2 years, it represents a juicy mouthful of lavishly wooded Chardonnay. All of Flora Springs' Chardonnays are now completely barrel-fermented, and if circumstances permit, bottled unfiltered.Flora Springs, one of the largest vineyard owners in Napa Valley, estate bottles only a fraction of their production, with the bulk of their wine production being sold to other wineries.
