The 2014 Chateau Laffitte Carcasset has an attractive nose, albeit one driven by the vanilla-laced new oak at the moment. It is a bit...flash. The palate is ripe and supple on the entry, certainly an easy-drinking Saint Estèphe compared to others, quite pure in fruit, a wine to enjoy over the next 4-5 years. Tasted September 2016.
