The 2001 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone continues to be an exemplary single-vineyard offering, properly so as it was the first such bottling in the appellation in 1985. A full ruby in color with an important, expansive nose of red and black berry fruit, leather, graphite, and vanilla, it offers powerful and focused flavors, full in their volume, elegant in their shape, and with an impeccable fusion of the fruit and oak.
