This new release from Poliziano was created to celebrate the new energy surrounding Nobile di Montepuclaino. The 2015 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Le Caggiole is a pure expression of Sangiovese from a single vineyard that had been previously in production since 1994. The wine is being resurrected with this vintage, 2015. You feel the warmth and heat of the growing season and the 15% alcohol with dark fruit tones of blackberry and dried cherry. The wine is nicely complex with beautifully integrated spice, cured tobacco and touches of bitter chocolate. Le Caggiole ages in French tonneaux for 16 months. It comes on like gangbusters, boasting ample complexity and power. Some 6,500 bottles were produced.
