The 2009 Nebbiolo d’Alba Ochetti is a bit brawny in this vintage, but quite pretty all the same. Crushed flowers, berries and spices are some of the notes that flow from this mid-weight Nebbiolo. The wine does soften up a bit with time in the glass. Ideally it should be given a quick decant to help soften some of the angular contours. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014. Proprietor Pietro Ratti continues to dial up the quality, especially with his Baroli. In 2007 those wines aren’t as differentiated in quality as they typically are, which is one of the qualities of the vintage in general.Importer: Dreyfus Ashby & Co., New York, NY; tel.
