The dense and structured 2001 Barbaresco Gallina is the ripest of these Barbarescos. It offers a deep, balsamic nose along with notes of spices, stewed prunes, macerated cherries and much toasted oak. This particular bottle showed much better than a bottle tasted last year. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2013. No known American importer.
