The 2001 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Santa Pia, the first single-vineyard Vino Nobile to be produced, is very ample and spicy in aroma with ample sensations of incense, cinnamon, and sandalwood along with the red berry fruit, full and powerful flavors, structured and intense, but gratifyingly supple and velvety in their long flow over the palate. Wonderful aromas of crushed berries, cherries and licorice follow through to medium- to full-bodied palate with licorice and dried cherries on a velvety texture. This is a new cru from this estate.
