The 2010 Pinot Nero bursts from the glass with juicy, perfumed red cherries, flowers and licorice. There are no hard edges in this pliant, expressive entry-level Pinot. I would prefer to drink the 2010 over the next 2-3 years, while the fruit remains vibrant. This is quite elegant from a textural standpoint, especially within its price range. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.
These new releases from Cantina di Terlano are impressive. As much as I admire the top wines, I simply adore the entry-level bottlings for their unbeatable combination of quality, value and regional/varietal typicity.
