(100% tempranillo, from a vineyard planted at about 2,000 feet; aged in all new French oak): Inky ruby. Smoke- and spice-accented aromas of dark berries, cola and vanilla, with a hint of pipe tobacco emerging with air. Fleshy and smooth in texture, offering sweet, oak-spiced blackcurrant and cherry flavors. Fine-grained tannins build on the long, sappy finish, which leaves a bitter cherry note behind.
