Vinified using whole clusters and fermented for 10 months in 30% new French oak, the 2019 Pinot Noir Ex Vite has a medium garnet color and pretty aromas of dried herbs, pepper, tea leaves, bitter citrus and restrained red and black berry fruit. The palate is light-bodied, fresh and restrained with a long earthy, spicy finish. 124 cases were made.

Pale ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir Ex Vite has a seriously earthy/herbal nose with notes of wild thyme, sage, underbrush and damp soil intermingled with red currants and raspberry leaves plus a waft of lavender. The medium-bodied palate has a generous amount of fruit to match the savory/herbal layers, supported by a firm, chewy frame and finishing long. If you love edgy Pinots, this one’s for you.

The only wine made with 100% whole clusters and from the estate San Saba Vineyard located just outside the edge of the Santa Lucia Highlands, the 2014 Pinot Noir Ex Vite offers outstanding notes of strawberries, wild herbs, pepper and earth in a medium-bodied, low acid, rich and textured package. The stems show here, but they're balanced by plenty of fruit, and it offers lots of upfront appeal.

Seeing 100% whole-cluster, the 2012 Pinot Noir Ex Vite is a serious 2012 that does everything right. Possessing plenty of ground herbs, spice and earth, no doubt from the whole-cluster, to go with a solid core of fruit, this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, loads of texture and building, sweet tannin. As with all of the Pinot Noirs from this estate, it's well made and can be enjoyed anytime over the coming 3-5 years.

Sweet herbs, crushed flowers, mint, licorice and red cherries waft from the glass in the 2010 Pinot Noir Ex Vite. The use of 65% whole clusters comes through in this delicate, intensely perfumed Pinot. An understated, feminine finish rounds things out nicely. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.
