Shows a notably earthy, cedary side that's trim, with spice, dried currant, sage and herbal notes. Full-bodied, yet not revealing much at this point. Best from 2010 through 2017. 1,400 cases made. -JL

Mint, bay leaf, tobacco and dried currant are lean and austere, offering little in the way of ripe fruit. Drink now through 2009. 1,400 cases made. -JL

Austere and on the greenish side, with cedary oak and dry tannins as the signature. You get a hit of dried-out currant, but not enough to inspire a strong recommendation. 410 cases made. -JL

This 100% mountain Cab is very, very tannic. Ripe blackberry fruit begins to flatter, and then those tannins rush up like linebackers and shut everything down. This suggests aging. Balanced and dry, it should begin to come into its own by 2008 and develop for many years. ——S.H.(12/31/2006)—— 92

A dark, immense, potent young wine, framed by intense, chewy tannins but also offering a wealth of ripe blackberry and wild berry flavors, with hints of currant and sage, though those flavors taste a bit clipped on the finish.
