The Giovanni Viberti 2019 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Bricco Airoli sources its fruit from old vines planted between 1950 and 1955. This wine delivers impressive results with dark concentration, very true and intense flavors and pretty aromas of pressed blackberry, spice and cured tobacco. This vintage is especially interesting in terms of fruit weight and texture.

Black currant and black cherry flavors are pure and saturated, meshing seamlessly with the supple, juicy texture. Firm and fresh, shows a hint of bitter almond and earth accents on the finish. Showing extra depth and intensity (that comes from old vines), the 2015 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Bricco Airoli glides smoothly over the palate with loads of dark fruit intensity. Ripe fruit segues to spice, tar and sweet tobacco. The mouthfeel shows moderate concentration with yet another dose of black fruit on the finish. Fruit for this wine represents a special selection from two vineyard sites planted in 1950 and 1955. You get great value here.
