The 2008 Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills Select is dark ruby in color with an admirable bouquet of violets, Asian spices, cedar, and assorted black fruits. This leads to a medium bodied, layered, concentrated, spicy offering with outstanding volume and length. Already complex, another 2-3 years of cellaring will only add to its appeal. Torii Mor was founded in 1993 by Dr. Donald and Margie Olson. Their Olson Estate Vineyard was planted in 1972 making it one of the oldest in the state. Production now stands at 15,000 cases.Tel. An elegant wine, with moderate 13.6% alcohol, brambly berry fruit, and a wash of finishing acidity. The restrained (30%) new French oak can be sensed in the lightly chocolaty finish. It’s nice to be able to call an Oregon Pinot charming, as this one is, rather than volcanic. ——P.G.(6/1/2011)—— 88

The 2006 Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills Select is sourced from multiple vineyards and exhibits an enticing bouquet of rose petal, red cherry, and tobacco leading to a ripe, sweetly fruited elegant, and intense wine with superb depth and a lengthy, pure finish.
