The light gold-colored 2007 Chardonnay Amelia El Triangulo Vineyard contains a small amount of fruit from the cool-climate Limari region. It reveals an outstanding perfume of smoke, mineral, poached pear, vanilla, butterscotch, and hazelnut. On the palate, it has a smooth texture, ripe fruit, an elegant personality, and a pure, lengthy finish. It might surprise a few Burgundy fans in a blind tasting. Terrunyo is a premium label owned by Concha y Toro. During my visit with Ignacio Recabarren, the brilliant vigneron behind the Terrunyo Carmenere project, I was able to taste all of the wine to date including the yet to be released 2007 Carmin de Peumo. I will be posting my notes of this tasting on my blog space on erobertparker.com.Importer: Banfi Vintners, Old Brookville, NY; Tel: (800) 635-6511
